The President of the Younan Properties group, Mr. Younan, has been awarded the gold medal for tourism!
The medal was given in recognition of the Grande Maison Younan Collection’s work over the years. On Monday January 7, 2019 at the Château de Beauvois, Zaya S. Younan received the gold medal for tourism, the highest distinction awarded to French tourism industry professionals, from the Prefect of Maine-et-Loire, Mr. Bernard Gonzalez. Presented in January 2019, the gold medal is a rare and distinguished honor, awarded to individuals who have made a valuable, long-lasting and high-quality commitment to developing the French tourism sector.
Since the Grande Maison Younan Collection was founded in 2015, the Younan Properties group has acquired and renovated several luxury French hotels and now manages a number of truly exceptional châteaux. Passionate about France’s beautiful buildings and historical heritage, Mr. Younan has worked to restore some of the country’s most incredible architectural treasures. The Château du Petit Chêne and its golf course were the group’s first acquisition in 2015; this superb seventeenth century property, now known as Alexandra Palace, will welcome its first guests in 2019, after 4 years of renovations. The group also acquired the Hôtel Saint-Martin, near Niort, in 2015; the property, originally used by travelers on the Camino de Santiago, has a long tradition of hospitality. In 2016, the acquisitions of the Château de Beauvois near Tours, where King Louis XIII used to stay, and the Château Le Prieuré near Saumur confirmed the group’s focus on the French art of living: common areas and exteriors were renovated, the Château de Beauvois’ rooms were decorated in Louis XIII style and the Château du Prieuré, which had been closed for 4 years, was completely revamped. The Forges golf course was acquired in 2017. In 2018, the group acquired the Château de la Perrière near Angers, a seventeenth century gem, and the Château de Vaugouard, north of Montargis, which was restored to its former glory after extensive renovations. In addition to its real estate, the group also owns a number of vineyards, another key area for French tourism.
The hotels of the Younan Properties group are historical monuments and have been renovated and restored in period style; guests can all enjoy the carefully chosen details and décors of the properties’ incredible surroundings, witness to France’s long, fascinating history. As a key player in French tourism and a staunch defender of French heritage, Zaya S. Younan sees the gold medal for tourism as a “great honor and recognition of an incredible achievement”.
