10,000 bottles. The stone walls of the Château de Beauvois guard the 10,000 bottles of its wine cellar as if they were precious treasure, keeping them at the perfect temperature and humidity. In the former home of the grand falconer of King Louis XIII, good wine and the art of living go hand in hand.
In fact, the Château de Beauvois’ towers were built in the 15th century using stone from the wine cellar. This beautiful stone cellar is the perfect place to store such valuable bottles. The wine cellar was renovated and decorated when the château was acquired by Grande Maison Younan Collection; today, its treasures are to be admired and enjoyed by well-informed wine-lovers. Crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling, gently illuminating the stone vaults and showcasing the historic beauty of the place. Its arches, vaults and elegant carpets make it feel like a riad. The bottles are safely stored on shelves. There are 10,000 from all over France — and plenty from the Loire Valley. These fantastic wines are guaranteed to delight the most demanding palate; it is time to discover them for yourself! In the mood for bubbles? Dom Ruinart’s truly divine champagne is slowly matured in chalk quarries for a beautiful and aromatic complexity. Heading back to an age-old vineyard in Benais in the Loire Valley, Clos Sénéchal 1900 and 1911 are extraordinary and elegant red wines with all the distinctive character of the terroir.
Another region, another gem: the sublime Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche 1994 is an exceptional vintage and a unique white wine which bears all the hallmarks of Burgundy’s fine wines. Towards Bordeaux, the Saint Emilion 2014 and 2015 produced by Domaine de la Croix Fourney, owned by Mr. Younan, elegantly convey the essence of this historic terroir.
